Saskatchewan Centennial 2005 Medal The Royal Canadian Mounted Police

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Long Service Medal was created in 1934

according to a rare high standard that brings considerable benefit or great honour to the Canadian Forces or the Canadian public

where the individual had otherwise been expected to complete their service

The purpose of the medal is to recognize any person whose service equals or exceeds a period of 20 years in a police service in Alberta

This currently includes those who served in Sierra Leone as part of the British-led International Military Advisory and Training Team (IMATT) following the signature of the Lomé Peace Agreement on 31 July 2002 (Operation SCULPTURE)
